rit Dye dusty blue

Help! I want to know how hard is it to dye chiffon to a dusty blue? I want chiffon table runners and would save a lot of money buying from a company plain white and cutting it up myself. Does anybody know what dye formula is best for dusty blue ?

I’m not sure how easy it would be or colors/formula to use. I found table runners for a couple of bucks a piece. I think I got them from tableclothlinen.com. Possibly efavormart.com
In my opinion cutting and dying them would be a lot of work.

Dyeing silk chiffon or georgette, no problem, a natural fiber, takes dye well, but runs 15-18 a yard.
Poly or poly rayon georgette is completely unpredictable, because the fibers are a plastic heated to high temp then squirted out of a machine as fine thread already colored. Then cooled, then woven. Some, the plastic won't absorb dye at all. Like dyeing a plastic water bottle. dye may stay some on the outside, but drip off and run if damp or rubbed. Not good on a table. Others, fiber mixes, are unpredictable. Better to find a good liveable price on chiffon or georgette ( slightly crinkly chiffon) or organza ( sheen on chiffon.)

Dusty Blue can be a dozen shades. Do you want a solid, or would an abstract print do? If it is also a dress color, you don't dress tables to exactly match your clothes, or dress to match furnishings. ( Except little pops, flowers, napkins.) Bad fashion and bad design. If dresses are dusty blue, pick a different but compatible shade or a print that gives an impression of the color.Poly chiffon or georgette, in 54" wide bolts, is usually cut in 3 18" strips hemmed to 15-16, for big or wide tables. And 4 13" strips hemmed to 12" for smaller or narrower tables. This discounter only has one at bolt price in stockremotely close to any dusty blue.rit Dye dusty blue 1

The standard bolt as at Fabrics club is 54 inches wide, 15 yards long. But did you look at
    "12"x 10 Yards | Dusty Blue Chiffon Fabric Bolt | TableclothsFactory" https://tableclothsfactory.com/products/12x-10-yards-dusty-blue-chiffon-fabric-bolt
tableclothsfactory.com has light sheer of many colors in rolls, 12 " wide so no hemming, and 10 yards long. That makes the equivalent of 2.5 yards cut into strips and hemmed, of a 54" width. If you want 90 inch strips you get 4. I have seen the organdy, and the chiffon. Nice colors, very thin. But you are using them once.

Worth a look. I believe they still carry napkin ring like flattened ovals, if you want to slide it over chiffon at intervals so a long runner makes a wave pattern. rit Dye dusty blue 11

Thank you all for the information. The reason I was having to do my own bc my tables are 10ft long and it’s hard to find table runners that long without breaking the bank. I will look into the options posted. I was looking at fabric wholesale direct. They sell chiffon 2.49/yard

Usually, like tablecloth factory, they are 12 inches wide by 8 or 10 yards, 24-30 feet long. Regular bolts will be 15 yards/ 45 feet continuous piece. But 54 or 4 12 inch strips wide. The biggest difference is the work of hemming, and the $2.50 rolls are extremely thin.

Hey! I am trying to do the same thing. Did you end up doing this yourself or buying them?
