Rings!

So what are you doing with your rings? I thought about getting them soldered before the wedding so I can have my engagement ring all cleaned and ready and while it’s there getting all that done I thought to have them soldered together so I wouldn’t have to come back after the wedding. So maybe the week before the wedding and the wedding morning I wouldn’t wearing my engagement ring (which is fine with me) but I mentioned it to the workers at my jewelry store and they acted like I was crazy to get it done before the wedding? Something I am missing? Thank you!

Tradition is usually you wear your e-ring on your right hand during ceremony and you only put on the wedding band and the add your e-ring after ceremony. That is now changing and many brides are doing what you want to do. I know I am so that my band fits perfectly as it is shaped to fit curved with my E-ring and I don’t want it shifting during pictures. I will be taking them in to get soldered together and cleaned about 2 weeks before my wedding. I think it is personal preference and if that is what you want to do then do it.

I haven't decided yet, but I may just leave my engagement ring off and put the wedding band ceremony on during the ceremony. Afterwards. I was going to wear both. But I plan to find a wedding band that complements my engagement ring Well.

I picked an enhancer, so I had them soldered together while they were getting resized. Yes it means I can't wear my engagement ring, but I wanted to get the work done all together since they were going to have both rings anyway. Personal preference! No one looked at me funny, but it was hard putting my engagement ring back in the box until the wedding.

Daughter's engagement and wedding band have a lot of design elements that meant the rings would have to be soldered in order for the designs to "line up perfectly," something that was VERY important to her -- especially for all the wedding photos that would include her rings. She took them to be cleaned and soldered two weeks before the wedding and picked them up the week before. I was with her when she picked them up, and for "safekeeping" she just put them on before we left the jewelry store. She intended to take them off when she got home and not wear them until the ceremony, but she just decided to continue to wear them all week. As far as I know, not one person noticed or said anything (besides then FH, and he was fine with whatever made her happy). She and SIL did a first look, so she wore her rings through that, and then took them off and gave them to the BM, who carried them in to the ceremony. I think this is about what you and FH are comfortable with. Daughter was very glad her rings were permanently perfectly aligned in all the photos, because that was important to her.
