Rings

How soon before the wedding should I go get my rings soldered together? I got them from Kay and it takes about 2 weeks to get them back.

I wouldn't have your rings soldered before your wedding unless

1.) You don't plan to wear them until the wedding

    or

2.) You're fine with wearing your wedding band before marriage

If so, I would look into doing it soon. Most jewelers are backed up and some aren't offering these services right now. I would also be nervous that you could drop it off and they could shut down again.

I'd just wear a silicone ring until then. I just want them soldered because my ring is a pear and the band on my engagement ring is twisted so the wedding band has 2 points and only fits in one particular spot and it doesn't like to stay where it's supposed to.

If it normally takes two weeks, I’d probably do it about a month before, depending on the time of year. Certain times, such as before Christmas, Valentine’s Day, and Mother’s Day are especially busy. The jewelers also get busy with repairs, sizings, and similar things right after those same holidays.

Hi Kaylee! It's up to you - when you want them finished by and how comfortable you feel dropping the rings off right now!

If you want them soldered by your wedding I'd drop them off ASAP since it sounds like everyone is working on a much longer timeline than normal. But if you're not in a rush you could also wait until after your wedding and longer - until things get closer back to normal with store openings and turnaround times!
