Who’s done this? How did you do it? Any tips or suggestions? We will have around 120 guests.

It’s basically passing your ring around and guests hold it and bless it with their positive thoughts for your marriage. We’re considering doing this too since our guest count is small and they’ll be sitting in a circle.
Just make sure you trust all of your guests.

Oh nooo unless it ended with an alcohol bath I couldn’t do that.

i would ask your officiant about this because with that many guests it’ll take awhile to get to everyone. I went to a ceremony where they did it but it was legitimately 10 of us and it took maybe 1-2 minutes.

How is the ceremony seating set up? Will it be easy to pass the ring back and fourth without dropping or falling anywhere it may get lost?

I feel like I would be stressed the entire time this was happening haha. It would take such a long time with that many guests and it could get dropped or something...... best man held the rings in his pocket at our wedding and didn’t have them in a box for whatever reason, and when he reached into his pocket he made a “oh sh**” face for a split second where he didn’t feel both of them, and it was such an anxiety-ridden moment. Luckily he did have them both but like, I would never subject myself to 120 people passing around my expensive ring 😂

I'm also considering a ring warming (Irish wedding tradition to the best of my knowledge) - I've been toying with the idea of tying the rings together with a pretty ribbon and placing it where people enter the ceremony area This way they can touch the rings on their way in. I would have someone as a greater who could keep an eye on things and explain the tradition to anyone who wasn't familiar. This greater could then untie or unhook the rings and give them to the ring bearer before the procession starts.

I actually did think about this but I decided not to because we are having around 200 guests as well and I thought it would take too long

Maybe put it in a box rather than everyone holding the ring Bare so that it reduces the probability of it dropping

Maybe introduce the ring warming ceremony early on then as guests pass the rings continue with the ceremony rather than waiting for them to be passed. Then it won’t matter if it takes a long time to complete.

We did this. We put the rings in a box we had custom made on Etsy. We only had 40 guests so it didn't take that long. Our groomsman helped by giving it to the first row and then the guests passed the box around until it came to the end of the rows at which point he carried it to the other side to pass among those rows. We had a string duo play The Prayer during this time and it was so beautiful.

This is the first time I've heard of this, but I think the idea is really sweet. If you're having a large-ish wedding, this might not be the way to go because I could see it taking a while. I'd also be concerned if there are a lot of young children attending who might think "Ooh shiny!" and take off running Smiley xd

Heck no .. . I want my ring looking like it's brand new on the day of. I'm planning on sending my engagement ring back to the jeweler to have it refinished and then not wear it until he puts it on my finger. For some reason people like to touch diamonds. . Touching them smudges them!

I feel the same way about this as I feel about way too many strangers touching my dog... firm no. I wouldn't want a bunch of people touching my ring. I think with 120 people that's a lengthy process as well. It would probably be more ideal for a way smaller wedding.
