Ring sizing stress

M, on June 6, 2018 at 1:22 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11
I am still having a hard time knowing what size to order for my wedding band, I am eyeing a Tiffany band and unfortunately cannot try on in store because I do not live close by... I have tried on some plain bands in a store one time to get a sense of band width and size, but I am not sure how to pick what size is best as my hands were kind of warm so my fingers were slightly swelled (the Jewelers have just told me whatever size you want, which is not really helpful)... I have to order the Tiffany band online or over the phone and I really just want to choose the right size the first time as I don’t want to stress about sending back and waiting for refund to reorder, etc.... I wish I had started looking earlier but honestly I thought I would have just picked a ring from a local jeweler rather than wanting one from a company that is not close lol .
My engagement ring is a 6 (which is my true ring size), my hands do swell in heat (not a lot but enough) and I know that with two rings on, they feel tighter ... I want to be able to wear the band alone some times so I do not want it to be too big... should I choose the 6 for the band and if need be, resize my engagement ring? I am so flustered that I keep going back and forth, and like I said my local jeweler was no help other than to try to sell me one of his rings lol
(Also the Tiffany band I want is a plain knife edge style/no stones.. could that be resized if necessary even with the shape of it?)
Hoping to figure this out soon, any advice is appreciated..

If your engagement ring is a 6, then that is your size and what you should order. The width of your ring 1mm/2mm, etc., may determine how tight it feels. But you should be fine with a 6.

When I was getting sized they told me to make sure that the ring needs a little tug to get off. If it doesn't have a little resistance she said it would easily fall off when washing/drying your hands. Is there another local jeweler you can visit to get sized?

My engagement ring is a 2mm and the band I want is also a 2mm.... I could get on and off with a little resistance but my hands were warm so they looked swelled a bit which made me feel like they looked tight 🙁

Get the 6Smiley smile It shouldn't be too small, and you wouldn't want it to be too big and fall off!

Do you have a picture of it? Generally if it's not an eternity band with stones all the way around it is resizable. I believe my wedding band is a half size smaller than my e-ring which I had to have sized down and honestly could go down another half size but with the humidity in OH I'm afraid I won't be able to get that ring off in the summer lol

I guess it really depends on how long your fingers are, 4mm shouldn't be too much on a finger.

It has no stones, only difference from a traditional band is the knife edge shape

I was told to go up half a size since it will be a wider band. With my engagement ring but it is a guard that wraps around and is fussed together. With that type of band it looks like it can be resized but if you call Tiffany and co they should be able to verify that

My e-ring is a 4.5 but I plan on getting my band in a 4.25 because it slips around a lot. I don't think I'd size it down again BUT to feel comfortable with my band I'm going to go a little smaller
