So we picked out our rings and we love them. We decided to both go with bands because a) I don't like diamonds and b) we both work in the food industry and diamonds aren't allowed. BUT my family is against me wearing a band instead of a 'real ring' and now my mom keeps sending me pictures of other rings which I find incredibly rude, especially after I told her why I'm wearing a band instead. I'm getting frustrated and don't know what else to do about it. On a more positive note though, both of ours finally came in the mail!! (FH is the same but with red instead of blue)

I love it! I think your mom probably thinks she's helping by sending the pictures. I'm not sure there is much you can do to change her mind, but it's not about her, it's about you and your fiancee and what you want. it would bug me too though

YES! I was actually looking up rings for my FH and that was one of them. Turns out he picked a different one but of course it still includes blue because it's his favorite color. As for your mom, I would just let her know how it is and if she can't accept that then that's her problem, not yours. I'm glad you both found something you love! Congrats!

Tell her that you appreciate her suggestions, but you’ve made a purchase that you’re happy with and it’s not up for debate.

Her issue apparently isn't just what it looks like, but how much we paid for them(same issue my sister had too). We looked and compared prices on them at all of the jewelery stores and the cheapest we found was $119 each at Jared's, then just because we thought it'd be funny we looked at Walmart too and sure enough they had the same EXACT ring there in both of the colors and we only paid $45 for BOTH

I don't understand why your mom has such an issue with your ring. Ignore her on this. If you're comfortable and love your ring choice, that's all that matters

I think you should wear a ring that you want to wear. Also, my FH old promise ring is the same ring but green! 😂

It’s suppose to represent you and your partner. Don’t let it get to you, maybe you need to sit her down and explain, clearly why you made your decision and that she needs to respect that

I personally would just remind her that this is about you and him, not her or the price. You two are happy with what you picked, end of discussion. If she can't respect that, you will no longer be discussing anything about the wedding with her.
