Ring ceremony

Future Mrs. Lowder, on February 18, 2020 at 3:41 PM Posted in Planning 0 5
My FH and I are contemplating reading our vows the day before I actual wedding at the courthouse and then doing a ring ceremony and a reception the next day with family and friends. How should we go about this? What is said during a ring ceremony/ how do we keep it “professional”? Any ideas?

My FH and I aren’t writing our vows but my mom did with her husband and the main points were why they love each other, what they love about each other and the promises they were going to make moving forward as a married couple

Why not just do it at your wedding though?

We’ve asked FH’s grandpa to be our “officiant” and then soon after found out it was going to be an extensive process to have him go through the steps to be ordained so we’re trying to find a way around that.

What state are you in? Most states that allow online ordination it’s really not very complicated!

Also if thats the only issue maybe just sign the paperwork at the courthouse and then redo your “ceremony” (ring exchange and vows) at the “wedding” 🤷🏻‍♀️

We’re also questioning that! We love our date, which is a Saturday but to do it at the courthouse it would be the day before on Friday. So we aren’t sure what’s going to happen with dates on the paperwork.
