Ring bearer

Michelle, on July 27, 2019 at 12:27 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 10

Our ring bearer is our son and he will be a few weeks shy of being 18 months old the day of our wedding, so i am worried that he will end up trying to run off lol. Would it be weird to have a bridesmaid walk him down the aisle? Does anyone have any ideas on how to keep a toddler from running the opposite way? I am also worried that once he sees FH that he will run straight to him lol

I think that's a good idea. My ring bearer was 3 and his older sister who was 7 walked him down the aisle to help him get down without running off. Do you have someone in the first row that he can sit with once he gets down the aisle? Perhaps your parents or his?

That's good! My ring bearer's dad (bridesmaid's husband) sat in the front row so this helped. It is always a wild card, though, having little ones there so hopefully your ceremony will be short.

We aren't planning anything long since our 3yr old is a flower girl but my 5 year old niece will be a flower girl as well and will be holding my daughters hand lol

It will be so cute to have him in the wedding! Having someone go with him is a good idea. Also, maybe use that he will want to run to FH to your advantage - that could be a very sweet moment before he passes the little one off.
Also, in rehearsal make sure the little one gets a reward (big hugs, high five, great job, maybe something to play with) EVERY time he walks down the aisle, that way it’s more likely he will remember and want to do it on the actual day. Good luck! And remember whatever happens will be adorable!

We are having our son walk down in between the best man & maid of honor. Since they are the first pair to walk down together!

My some will have just turned 2 at our wedding. I’m having the flower girl walk with him and hold his hand.

I'm having 2 flower girls only because my daughter is 3 and tries to run off any chance she gets, so my 5yr old niece will be holding her hand as they walk down the aisle lol

We might be doing the rehearsal at our house since we are on a budget. So I don't know if we will have a practice or not yet

This sound like something I might consider and discussing with FH since our son knows and is comfortable with the maid of honor and best man (my sister and fh brother)
