Ring bearer

Aliea, on November 4, 2020 at 10:25 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 11
So about a year and a half ago my sister and i fell out but have been trying to repair our relationship but I'm close to my niece and nephew, so I asked her for him to be my ring bearer she agreed when I asked her a few months back but tonight she texts me to say she is pulling my nephew from my wedding and there is no one else I want in it. So my question is have anyone had their wedding without one?

A ring bearer is definitely not needed or required. It has actually become quite popular to not have ringbearers or flower girls. To be honest, I could not even tell you the last wedding I went to that had a ring bearer or flower girl in it

It is perfectly fine to have a wedding with no ring bearer. Holding the rings is also commonly known as the best mans job so he can hold the rings for you. No one will even notice.

I agree with previous posters. It's not a requirement.

We skipped flower girl/ring bearer entirely.

It's not remotely required - MOST things people tell you that you "have to have" are not required.

    ACTUALLY required:

    1. A couple

    2. A license/officiant (some places you don't need an officiant)

    3. Food for any guests you may have

    That's it.

    Sum total.

It's not a requirement, so you can do it without him although I'm sure you probably don't want to. Hopefully by your wedding date your sister and you can come up with some sort of agreement because I know me personally I would HATE if my sister pulled my niece/nephew out of my wedding

I agree with the previous comments. It's not required to have a ring bearer or flower girl, so totally fine to skip if there isn't anyone else you'd like to include for those roles. I do hope that you and your sister can work things out!

My fiance and I are not having a ring bearer or a flower girl in our wedding. We decided to go a different route when it comes to those positions.
My son, from a previous marriage, is a junior groomsman but will be in charge of the rings since he will be apart of our ceremony and with one of the groomsman once he reaches halfway down the aisle he will stop, spin a fanny pack around to the front of his waist, put on sunglasses, start tossing flower petals out from the fanny pack and dancing down the rest of the way.

Like others have said, you don't have to have a ring bearer. But, if you want one, have you considered any girls for the job? The ring bearer doesn't have to be a boy. Heck, some people use a dog.

Countless weddings don't have any ringbearer or flowergirl. They're both for show anyway as the best man typically carries the real rings.

Thanks so much everyone I decided not to use one since the bestman will have the rings anyway. Bit thanks for all of the feedback.
