Ring Bearer Pillows

Susie , on July 8, 2018 at 9:08 PM Posted in Planning 0 18
Ok so we’re having our three nephews as ring bearers (one will be 5 and the other two are 3.
we don’t have any flower girls.

heres my question- do people still have ring bearers carry the little pillows ? Do all three of them carry one or just one? Or none of them ?
im not a fan of the signs that are popular now so that’s not really an option

I know that some do still use pillows, but I actually haven't been to a wedding in a while where they have used one. Most of the weddings I've attended recently, they've used a ring box. If you do choose to use a pillow or a ring box, I personally would have the 5 year old hold it and just have the 3 year olds walk with him.

There are lots of alternatives to pillows

I was just to a wedding and there were a set of twins , a pillow was used and it was jointly carried.
So in this case I would have the 5 yr old carry and the 2 younger walk beside

I haven’t seen a pillow used in years but I think it’s totally up to you. Tons of ideas on pintrist. You can also tie fake rings to anything so you don’t risk the kids loosing them

You could have the oldest hold the pillow or pillow alternative, if you and your FH are writing your vows, each of the three year olds could hold and present the book or paper they are written on.

Ours is going to use a ring box, got a cute wooden one made on Etsy with our initials graved in, possibly our date as well. I think it looks better (pillows kind of remind me of the 80s) plus feels like a much better way to keep the rings secure!

I wasn't planning on using one, but my mom insisted. So, I got one and will be tying fake rings for my 3 year old nephew to carry down the aisle.

I couldn’t imagine not having one! My Mom made one and my little nephew helped her with the design. 😍

Hi Susie!! It is totally up to you and your preference! I have been to weddings where the either use a pillow, box or have them walk down with signs. If you decide to go with a pillow, the oldest nephew could carry it and the younger ones walk on either side of him. Being that it's three of them they may not all be able to hold it together and walk down comfortably!

We are using a treasure chest type box with a LOCKING lock on it (and the key attached to my fiancee's Honor Guard Captain) so that there is no way that our ring bearer can eat the rings. He will be 3 and his big sister (who will be 8) is our flower girl and they will be walking together so she can help him.

I think I went to a wedding once where the ring bearer carried a pillow, but that was ages ago. Ring boxes are pretty popular and they have some beautiful ones on Etsy. This is our ring box. Purchased from Amazon, but the seller is also on Etsty.

Edit: whatever you decide to use, I would have the 5 years carry it. Older kids are less prone to dropping things. Smiley smile

I was planning on a pillow but then I started looking at boxes and fell in love with this since it matched our acrylic invitations. We plan to match the font to out invites and add the date.

I had my 4 year old nephew as my ring bearer and used a pillow. Had zero issues and he loved having such a big moment in the wedding.
