Ring Bearer Help

Annette , on May 30, 2019 at 4:12 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 20
Hey! So my sister has 4 boys, at the time of our wedding they will be 10, 5, 4, and 3. I don't want to have one be the ring bearer and not include the other three. So I'd like to do something that will include them all. Has anyone ever done that many ring bearer? Any ideas what I could do?? thaks!

I'd just have them all do it! We are having two "flower children", my fiance's niece and nephew will walk down the aisle together holding cute signs. And we aren't having a ring bearer.

Ok just wanted to make sure it wasn’t “odd” to have that many do it. I’m thinking of giving my oldest nephew the actual box with the rings in it and then have the others just walk with him. I’m looking at different cute signs for them and outfits but I can’t decide which ones to use

You could have the younger two carry those "here come the bride" signs and let the older two each carry a ring box.

I'd put all of them in! I have 3 nephews (4, 3, and 2) (will have 4 by the time my wedding comes as my newest nephew is due in July) and 1 niece (6 months). I am going to have my two youngest nephews walk down holding signs, and the oldest will pull my niece, who is the flower girl, down the aisle in a wagon. My brother or sister-in-law will carry the new baby down the aisle so he can also be a ring bearer as well (that's what they did with my 4 year old nephew when my other brother and sister in law got married 4 years ago).

We're having four ring bearers (9, 7, 3, 1) and two flower girls (both 3).

I don't see why not since people are having multiple flower girls. They could also be junior ushers.

I like the idea of 2 of them carrying signs or have them as ushers. You could also give them small important tasks like having one of them make sure your guests sign the guest book or maybe have them hand out rice or bubbles if you're doing that

I really like the idea of the 2 of them carrying signs and the oldest 2 with the rings. Our wedding is pretty small and we are having the ceremony and reception all at the same place back to back so I don’t know about having ushers.

As far as the attire goes, I know they make little suits, but that may be overdoing it a bit, costly and uncomfortable. What about matching khakis and white shirts with brown shoes? I love the idea of a gaggle of kids. It's very European to have multiple attendants. Remember Pippa Middleton with all the kids at Kate and William's wedding? So cute!

My sister does khakis with matching tops on them for holidays! Its super cute! She’s always able to find a ton of stuff on sale at kohl’s, idk how she does it. But we’re definitely gonna shop around and get what’s easiest and comfortable. I saw one pic is ring bearers around their ages and they just had black pants with button down shirts and suspenders. So adorable!

I chose my fiance's youngest son be the ring bearer, since my fiancee is a cop we picked up a badge that days "ring security", the other kids will be sign holders....

I was thinking about that too! Like having my oldest nephew with the rings and then having the other walk around him as “security guards”

The ten year old can be a Junior Groomsman or can escort your grandparents down the isle. He may be too old to be considered a ring bearer. I would talk to him about his options. The five year old is old enough to hold the rings. The four and three year olds can handle signs.

In my wedding I have my eight ear old niece as a flower girl. She is old enough to be either a flower girl or a Junior Bridesmaid, but she asked to be my flower girl the day we got engaged. My 5 year old nephew is the Ring Barer and FH's 4 year old cousin is our newest flower girl. My two 2 year old nieces will be in pictures and will have a playdate with a babysitter and will not be in the wedding. My 2 month old niece will be with a sitter at the wedding as well.

I'm a preschool teacher, so my advice is based on experience as well as opinion. Just make sure that the children are able to fully understand what they have to do during the ceremony. If they are not developmentally ready to handle the task (i.e., they call out, cry or run to mommy when they see her instead of walking calmly down the isle), then give them some other simple task to do or don't have them in the ceremony. Ideally, I would love to have my 2 year old nieces walk down the isle, but they are not mature enough to handle it.
