Ring bearer ettiquette!

Evelyn, on April 25, 2019 at 8:49 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 8
Hey y'all!
I just got the go ahead from the mom's and will be having my FHs cousins as our adorable ring bearers! I'm so excited!

The only thing is they are a bit young, 2 and 2 1/2 ish so I know there will be some drama getting down the aisle which I am totally prepared for, and I'm actually okay if they don't totally make it down at all, I love the cute factor and am not expecting them to be perfect!
I was just curious if anyone else had a young ring bearer of this age? Should I have a mom at the start of the aisle and a mom at the end to coax them down? And when would the mom that is helping them at the start of the aisle return to her seat, would she walk down after them?

Should I just have a mom walk them down?
Thanks for any tips and suggestions!

If you have a JR BM or Grooms Man have them
walk with them down the isle. Also hide a bag of m and m some place to slip the kid when he gets down the isle. I would have him sit with mom during ceremony. Keep them comfy maybe jammies for reception. Nor kids are comfortable better they behave. Remember he is young so don’t get to upset over things.

I’m the opposite, my flower girl will be around 3 and a half and the ring bearer (we’re calling him ring security) will be 11. They’ll be walking down together and If she’s not in the mood to walk we’ll put her in a wagon and he can pull her down the aisle! I also second having his favorite treat close by and letting him sit with his mom during the ceremony.

I also have a ring bearer that is young. He will be 2 1/2 when the wedding comes. We are having our older flower girl (she will be 6) who he knows very well walk with him. However, we will also probably have his grandfather (My FFIL) who he is very attached to be at the end of the aisle calling for him so he sees where to go along with our flower girl. Between these two things we are hoping he makes it down the whole aisle lol

Our flower girl will be just 3 when we get married. Plus she's a little firecracker, and I anticipate that she may not be in the mood to follow directions. So, luckily our ring bearer will be 6 by then, so we'll have them walk together. If that doesn't work, I have a couple of guests who know her well, and can grab her up to sit with them if necessary. Not a perfect plan, but oh well. My granddaughter is my flower girl, and I love her so much (and her antics) that I don't even care! I just want her there with us on our day.

My ring bearer will be almost 4 by our wedding. His mom is one of my BMs and I plan on having them walk together! Smiley smile

My friend used her niece who was two and very shy! All the bridesmaids coaxed her down the isle and cheered when she got up there. It was pretty cute.
