So i had originally decided that FHs daughter would be the only flower girl and his son be the ring bearer. My decision was made thinking it might be a difficult situation for his daughter (she is 7 son is 3) so i wanted to make it special to her, even though ive always wanted the girls i was a nanny to from 1 and 2 years old to now 8 and 9 (almost 10 at time of wedding) to be flower girls. Then we discovered how excited she is aboutt the entire wedding, and FH thinks she would be happy to have someone be a flower girl with her. So i decided FHs daughter and the 8 year old will be flower girls, then almost 10 year old and my youngest niece (10 as well) can walk with FHs son while he carries the rings (this way the rings are safer and i dont have 4 flower girls at a 40 person wedding) Ill make a mini proposal basket for the girls and my niece but what should i title the 10 yrs olds duty? Just would like to make a theme for the basket

I think having them be flower girls is fine, if they want to be one. I only had 40 guests at my wedding too but still had 3 flower girls and a ring bearer. The flower girls were 7, 9, and 11 and the ring bearer was 3. The 7 year old walked down the aisle with the ring bearer to make sure he got down the aisle okay.

What if you ask them if they like to be flower girls? You can still have them walk down with the ring bearer.

My niece will be my flower girl and she will also be helping her little brother down the aisle as our ring bearer. She will be 8 and he will be 3. She still gets the flower girl title that is making her super excited and she will get the extra special job of helping him.
