Ring bearer and flower girl

Madeline, on February 4, 2022 at 12:01 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 1 6
Hello! I really am not sure how this will plan out. I have a flower girl whom is about 2, and a ring bearer who’s about 20. I don’t really know other kids, or adult for a flower girl, and the ring bearer is one of my favorite cousins! I thought of an idea about them walking down the isle together or him pushing her in a wagon, but what about the reception when they are supposed to dance together… so I find a different flower girl or ring bearer, or can I make this work??

I've never heard of a flower girl and ring bearer dance at the reception. Skip that, no one will miss it. You can still have them walk down the aisle together (in a variety of ways).

Even if you wanted to keep the dance element, few things are cuter than adult men dancing with little kids. He could hold her and dance to a cute song. However, I've never been to a wedding that included this dance so dont feel pressure to keep it.

If you don’t have anyone who are the appropriate ages , just skip it. No one will miss them and they are mainly for aesthetics only.

I was a flower girl as a little kid and I do remember being forced to dance with the ring bearer I wasn't happy about it. If I remember correctly the whole bridal party was asked (required) to join in on the first dance I mean if you really want to do it and the flower girl and ring bearer know each other he can always pick her up and do a sweet little dance but I don't think it necessary no body will miss that.

Thank you so much! I was also a flower girl a very long time ago, and was forced to dance as well!
