Hey guys! I'm new to this thread, but me and fiance have been looking for engagement rings (he proposed with a temporary ring). We've decided on a 3ct ring but I'm stuck on whether to get an oval or pear one, this is the style we're deciding between. It would be great to get your opinions on this!

I have an oval and I absolutely love it! I get so many compliments on it. I originally thought I wanted pear, but so glad I decided on oval. This is my oval:

Both are gorgeous!!! BUT I will saw I am partial to oval (as mine is an oval ring). However both would look great and congrats on your engagement!

I love the oval! One thing to remember about the pear is the pointy part! I had a pear shaped stone once and I felt like it was getting caught so much more because of that part of it.

It seems like everyone and their Momma has a pear shaped ring. And while they are beautiful... I prefer oval (but I could be biased because that's what mine is). Also, if you are getting a 3 ct ring... I'd go for the only with the best quality (oval) because in a ring that size I feel like you will definitely notice that more.

I think the oval is classic and you won't get tired of it! Pear shapes are gorgeous as well, but I feel as if they are sort of trendy and in-the-moment.

Haha I’m going to go against the grain and say that I prefer pear! But that’s what I have. I was originally set on an oval but changed my mind once I tried on the pear. And I feel like more people have the oval than pear, at least where I live.

My FH was originally looking at pears but went with a 3 ct round center stone since it’s more classic and timeless. You can’t go wrong with any of your choices! I love them all! Here’s a pic of mine
