Riding a horse to unveil bride

So my fiancee to be thinks it is a good idea to ride a horse to unveil herself to the guests. To clarify she doesn't want a carriage she just wants to ride horseback by herself. So my fiancee to be thinks it is a good idea to ride a horse to unveil herself to the guests. To clarify she doesn't want a carriage she just wants to ride horseback by herself. She's ridden a horse a handful of times and is no expert. I can only think of negative things with this.

1. Doesn't seem classy (we are having a traditional formal wedding not a casual one)

2. Horse will poop/pee

3. Dress could tear

4. Horse could spook and run

5. Costs more money than walking.

Anyone think this is a good idea or am I being negative? Please help me either see my negativity or show her how bad this idea is.

Also open to other fun ways of entering the wedding for her.

Not a good idea. Plus I have ridden side saddle a few times. If your horse gets nervous or starts misbehaving it is almost impossible to correct them because of the position you are in. We would have to sit astride and her dress would bunch up and be all wrinkled. So many things can go wrong in this scenario

Maybe you should recommend that she put on a formal dress and shoes, and take a test ride. Then go to a formal dinner, where she can sit, feel dirty and smelly. Maybe she'll change her mind? Smiley smile

On the other hand, when things go wrong, she could be the next internet sensation. Instead of watching bridal parties hitting the water when the pier collapses, we can watch as she falls from the horse.

This a very active community! Thanks for all the advice. We have decided on no horse Smiley smile except I do like the thought of my wedding possibly being the next Internet sensation when something goes wrong.

@Todd - glad you worked that out... and for the record, really happy to see some engaged guys like you and Kyle on the forums! Hope you stick around - we need to balance all the estrogen Smiley winking

@Kyle - thanks for making me snarf my soda... forgot about the smell when I used to open up my suitcase after a week riding at horse camp as a kid. My mother wanted to fumigate me! LOL
