Ribbon Wand Send Off

Brennan, on January 25, 2021 at 6:32 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 6
Has anyone done a ribbon wand send off outdoors at night? If so, was your photographer able to capture the ribbons well in photos? Our venue has cafe lights along the sidewalk immediately outside the doors but they don't extend to the parking lot, so I'm not sure how dark it will be and how well they will show up in photos. We aren't allowed to use anything that will end up on the ground and we don't want to do sparklers.

Talk with your photographer- I’ve seen lots of staged send offs. That gives you the lighting you want plus the majority of your guests will be in the photos.

I agree with Michelle. Another option may be to use glow sticks in a certain color. I’ve seen that and it was different, but very pretty.

I agree talk with your photographer and look into doing a staged send off earlier in the night before it gets too dark that way they can capture the picture! Then you can go back in and party!

Could you do the “send off” after the ceremony but before the reception? It may have better lighting and then you don’t have to get everyone together for a send off at the end of the reception/ the older folks can leave whenever they want without “missing” anything

I went to a wedding that did this. Your photographer should be able to get photos of this just fine. Talk to your photographer about this. We did glow sticks, so I talked to our photographer before ordering them just to make sure there would not be an issue with photos. She put me at ease.
