Rhinestones on Heels keep getting stuck on Tulle Robe

Belle, on September 23, 2020 at 6:50 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12
I fell in love with a Rara Avis bridal robe on the first sight I saw on Instagram. So I searched and searched, found it and ordered it. It took forever to get it. The XS is still too tall since I am a real short shortie, so I successfully altered it myself. I put so much work on this robe and I really can’t imagine replacing it.

Same as my bridal shoes. I am size 4, and it’s soooo hard to find available ones that I like yet not overpriced. I got Badgley Mischka rhinestone heels and it was the last size 4 that fits like a glove.
Now the problem. The rhinestones on the back of the heels keeps getting stuck on the bridal robe 😑. I tightened all the prongs, but it still not solve the issue. I lost one rhinestone already 😩
What should I do to avoid this happening?
TIA❤️

Maybe try those heel covers that are made for wearing in the grass? If the covers are long/high enough they will provide some protection. Plus they'll be easy to remove later.

The rhinestone covers the upper part of the heels though 🤔

Well, it’s a long robe with train, but it would look weird wearing a slipper or barefoot with it.

I'd definitely test in one small inconspicuous spot first, but I've read posts that bride's used clear nail polish on the settings for rhinestones on shoes. Maybe trying searching past forums for things like, "dress snagging on rhinestone shoes" to get some suggestions and pros & cons of each. I do know this is a really common problem and some just give up on the shoes....

    Oh wow - that's a gorgeous robe!! 😍

Do you have other non-jeweled heels you could wear while getting ready?? That way you don't have to worry about snagging your robe or changing your bridal shoes too much!

I've also seen tips like using clear nail polish (from this old post) or clear glue over the rhinestones, but it sounds like it will also definitely dull the shine and details. ✨

A while ago I heard good things about this trick and used it on a bracelet that keeps getting stuck on my sleeves. It made it terribly dull and wasted my bracelet 💔

Thank you, Lynnie. I thought about another heels, but I was like —> destination wedding —> minimal luggage. But I think I should. It’s a wedding, and I am the bride. Taking more stuff should be understandable 🤪

Yeah, honestly, I think you're going to have to wear a different pair of shoes -- at least with the robe. You can probably find some inexpensive unadorned shoes, I'm not sure what the context is for you wearing the shoes and robe together -- photos or wedding night -- but either way, it's hard to imagine your shoes being a major focus. If you want just one or two photos with the rhinestone shoes, perhaps your photographer can help you stage a shot where you have the shoes on, but are lifting the robe above the jewels. Both are super pretty!

I will wear this robe and shoes for the “getting ready” and bridal boudoir photoshoot ☺️

Thank you for the advice 🥂
