Revelry Bridesmaid Dresses?

Hayley, on April 29, 2018 at 4:06 PM Posted in Planning 0 3

So I am one of the victims of the Vow To Be Chic fiasco and now am trying to find the dresses I want for my girls that aren't too expensive. I found a new dress that I love at Revelry but now I am terrified to do anything online...anyone used them before? Are they legit? How long did it take for you to get the dresses in?

I ordered a sample box from them back in December and everyone loved the dress and they seemed to be good quality. I contacted customer service a few times and they let me extend the time I had the box so all my girls would try the dress on and they were very helpful and quick to reply so that was good too, I just had my girls order their dresses last week so I’m hoping and praying everything works out when they come in!

    Hi there,

I used Revelry to dress my bridesmaids for my wedding this year. I ordered all four dresses about three months in advance of wanting to receive them (which was actually about six months before the wedding itself so my bridesmaid would have time to make alterations if needed). I'm very glad I ordered well in advance because after paying for four dresses, I received three. Turns out there was some kind of mixup and they only made three, but luckily, their customer support was very good and responsive and they rush-ordered me the fourth dress. I was relieved that it was the same color, despite being made from a different dye-lot. Overall I was happy with how they handled the mix-up.

Additionally, the three dresses arrived on time according to Revelry's estimation. The dresses came each folded three times over in a bag, and those within a box, so I had to give the dresses some time to "hang out." The dress I chose was mostly tulle, so I imagine other fabrics may need a good steaming after shipment. There was also a nice hand-written note from the Revelry staff in the box that gave it a nice personal touch.

My bridesmaids did not do a home try-on first, instead I simply ordered swatches and felt like that was enough for me. However if I could do it again, I would likely do the home try-on to help with sizing. Keep in mind, even though the dresses are made-upon-order, they are NOT custom-made, meaning there is a sizing chart from which the bridesmaids choose their size, rather than sending in their exact measurements. Because of this, half of my bridesmaids dresses were WAY too big in certain places (for example, fit in the hips but not the bust), and I ended up paying to have their dresses altered. Two of the four dresses fit my bridesmaids perfectly. So it seemed to vary depending on body type, I suppose. Better the dress arrive big too big than too small.

Regarding the quality of the dress, we loved it. I went with Revelry's Rosalie convertible dress as a more affordable alternative to an expensive Jenny Yoo convertible dress that looked very similar. Many of my wedding guests thought the bridesmaid's dresses must be designer and gave lots of compliments, so I say mission-accomplished on that front. They look amazing in the photos.

Word to the wise, when ordering dresses or any outfit for a group online, I highly recommend that YOU place the order for all the dresses at once and then have the bridesmaids pay you back for their dress, rather than entrusting each bridesmaid to order their own dress via the website. There are three reasons for this: (1) it ensures everyone gets the same dress and someone doesn't accidentally order the wrong dress/color/etc, (2) it ensures that the dresses all comes from the same dye-lot for a consistent color hue, and (3) it ensures everyone has their dress on time.

Anyway, I know this was a TON of info, but I really hope that helps. I was a little nervous too but overall despite a couple hickups, I felt it was a great value, loved the dresses, and was impressed by the customer service.
