Return Address on RSVP envelopes??

milinovemberbride, on September 22, 2017 at 4:00 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 20

I know this is a "Duhhh" question but I just had to clarify...

Are you all putting your guests' addresses as return addresses on the RSVP envelopes included in the invitation?

I've never been invited to a wedding as an adult so I don't have any experience with this! Sorry if it's a stupid question LOL

Yes. We had them printed on the envelopes along with the guest's address and included a stamp to make it very easy for everyone.

Thanks Michelle! Did you stick the stamp onto the envelope or just throw it in there?

Hm, I never even thought of this. The most recent invite we got did not do that. Personally I think providing the stamp is enough, they have to fill out the card so they can write their return address.

I would stick them on the envelope. That way they don't get lost when they take out your invitation and they don't have to put them on themselves.

I just provided a stamp and obviously put our address on it and left their return address blank. Some of them filled it in and some didn't but I also numbered the envelopes so if someone didn't put their name on the RSVP (they all did though) we would know who it was from.

Honestly I never thought about this. I only wrote down my address to mail back to and pre-stamped the RSVP envelopes. No one seemed to mind though.

Yeah Asta, I wouldn't want to stick them in with the peel-off backing still on and I do like the point that JBridetobe made about it falling out so I'll stick them on.

Johanna, how are you numbering them so it's not incredibly obvious?

I printed each address on the RSVP envelopes and you should definitely pre-stamp them so it's literally just fill it out seal the envelope and drop in the mail.

No, I did not do that. Most of my guests had their own labels, or just wrote their address on the envelope.

I just had it stamped, and I had our return address printed on the return envelope through Wedding Paper Divas.

eta: I numbered my RSVP cards with an invisible ink pen I purchased from Amazon. There were only 2 guests that sent back the card without their name.

We're printing the guests' address on the RSVP envelopes for an easier way to keep track of as they come in, as opposed to numbering the cards. We will also have the stamp on the envelopes.

We put our address in both spots to help ensure they would make it to us.

Never thought of doing that. We knew our mailing address was ok and we just left the return address blank.

Some people used their labels or wrote it in...most did not.

And actually I have to say that FH and I have liked the ones without return addresses best because they're a total surprise as to what's inside!

I figured the same thing as a pp people can write their return address but turns out people didn't send it back to my address. I had one go to my moms house because the guest didn't know my address. Turns out the post office will mail them without a return address. I got a bunch without a return address. If I'd do it over I would've done that.

We didn't, and I've never got an RSVP card with my return address already printed on either.

Honestly, I was way to lazy to write ANOTHER address. I was also too lazy to create a numbered list so I put guest initials on the back left corner of each RSVP card.
