Return Address for Std's and Invitations

Jessica, on August 3, 2020 at 3:45 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 11

My fiance and I do not live together, nor will we until we get married. I am probably overthinking this a lot, but I'm not sure how to write the return address. I did some searching and I could do just my name and address however, I feel bad not having my fiance's name on them since it is his day too. I've thought about "The __ & __ Wedding" with our last names, but would that be tacky?

I think saying the "The ____ & ____ Wedding" and just using one of your addresses is fine.

I don't think that's tacky! I would recommend keeping the address consistent (either use just your address or just his address), but otherwise I think the wording is good.

IF you are going to have the same last name after getting married, you can do "The future Mr. & Mrs. __" with one address, whoever will be more organized to keep RSVP cards. If not then I think how you wrote it is perfectly fine! You can even just do your first names "__&__" with one address below. Most people will not think much of it and just assume you chose one address.

Save the dates are informal so you can do anything. Pick an address for them to be sent to (yours or his) in the situation that they get returned by the post office. Using 'Yourname & Hisname's Wedding' is a cute idea.

I just had “Matt & Margo” no last names on our return labels with our home address.

I’d just use both your 1st names and pick an address for all the RAVPs to go to

I’m in the same situation. For the save the dates I decided on ‘Jose and Valerie’ along with his address since I’ll be moving in with him after we are married. I wanted to train my family and get them use to the fact that my current address will only be mine for a few more months. No one had any issues once they received the save the date.

You can honestly just use both of your first names and pick an address

Thanks everyone for the suggestions! I might do our first names with my address since he will be moving in with me after the wedding.

I've also seen parent's home address, too. I've seen this for friend's bridal showers or baby shower invitations when a parent is contributing $ to the party. Good luck!

Thank you! I would use my mom’s address since she is contributing a lot to the wedding but I moved to Wisconsin to be closer to my fiancé and she’s still in Indiana. That is a very good suggestion though!

For out save the dates and RSVP envelopes I printed labels that just said Lucas & Taran and our address, but for the invitations they said The Future Christiansens with the address. My sister chose to do my parent's address even though she lives in a different state and my mom would send pictures of the RSVP cards as they came in and then would save them for her to pick up when she came to visit. As long as there's an accurate address, put whatever you like best.
