Restrooms.....

Dj Tanner, on October 9, 2020 at 2:41 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 16
My venue has two single stall bathrooms located inside. My wedding location will be outside by the water. There will be about 90 guests tops. The event coordinator for my venue informed me that for weddings over 100 people they require you to opt in for an additional restroom outside. (it’s not like a construction site porta-potty, it’s like a souped up bougie portable bathroom.) but she said because I will only have 90 people tops attending that it wasn’t necessary. I feel like I should definitely opt in for one if not two extras. I told her that and she said I can opt in for however many I think my guests will need, but she again said it’s really not necessary for less than 90 and the 2 they have inside would be plenty. I’m almost positive I’m going to opt in for at least one extra one, but does anyone have any idea on what a sufficient amount of restrooms are for 90 people? I guess my concern is that I’m just trying to avoid the “bathroom lines “and want my ppl to feel as comfortable as possible.

I think it should be fine. I went to a wedding with about 90 people and they had one porta potty. There weren't crazy lines or anything like that.

At my wedding we had about 60 people with one restroom and there was never a line. I don't think you will need an extra restroom.

I went to a wedding with ~110 people and 2 single stalls and there were definitely some lines (2-3 people waiting frequently) - many of the brides girlfriends started using the extra bathroom in the bridal suite in a different area.
Consider your crowd. More elderly relatives may lead to slower throughput and more frequent use. Women fixing makeup etc will also take up the whole bathroom (as opposed to multi-stalls like restaurants) so a higher maintenance crowd will be a bit slower too. If these don’t apply, you may be fine with 2. (Clearly this was a topic of concern that I asked friends and venues about! Haha). If I were you, I would probably add 1 portable.

Lol Yeah I’m sort of leaning on that, but they are a bit expensive. 2 grand a piece. But everyone else is saying but there were way more people and they were fine so I don’t know…ahhh I am so torn lol, I never thought I’d get anxious over toilets haha . In my mind I’m like I would totally like to save that two grand lol. Thanks for your input

We had a 100 guest wedding and our venue only had 2 restrooms. There were never any lines to my knowledge.

TWO GRAND EACH??!!! Jeez!! Okay new game plan:
Finish paying for literally everything else for the wedding. Ev.er.y.thing.

And then if you have left over money get them one toliet lol

I wouldn't do it, 2 bathrooms is plenty. I'd rather wait in line than use a portable bathroom.

I looked it up at some point and I think the "official" guidance is that you should have 1 toilet for every 50 people, so you should be good!

Cool yeah that seems to be the overall. I’m glad because this will now save me 2-4 grand on the restroom trailers. They are pretty bougie and have chandeliers inside believe it or not lol, but its still a chunk of cash I can put elsewhere.

I really think you’ll be fine with the ones inside. One outside if you really want to, and maybe if it’s closer in case you have elderly guests or anyone who can’t or shouldn’t walk further distances. I have around 100 guests and will have two restrooms at my reception.
