Responding to RSVP messages?

Bethany, on June 28, 2014 at 7:11 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

I have been thrilled to be receiving RSVPs left and right for our wedding on August 9th! But along with an RSVP some people have been sending sweet messages about how excited they are for us or questions that they have in regards to the wedding. I have been looking and looking and haven't seen an effective way to respond to those messages. Anyone have thoughts?

I haven't heard anything regarding this so I this no response is expected or necessary. Unless it was questions - depending how well you know them, do a quick call or email to answer. But I'm pretty casual, so depends how formal you are.

No reason to respond. People just put it on there as a nice little gesture. I have done it before too and never expected to hear anything from the couple.

Of course answer the questions. If the note is very awesome I would call them and thank them for the note but that's just me. Lol I thank everyone for everything out I at least try to.

Bethany, when you see them at the wedding, let them know it meant something to you. That's all. I always leave a special message when I send an RSVP.

They're responding to your invitation. You technically made the first contact by writing/sending the first letter. Give them an extra hug when you see them. Smiley smile

I have been responding to every RSVP that I have received through my website/email with a thank you and a note about excitement of sharing the day with them or letting know that we will miss them during the event but that their (whatever their reason for not coming) sounds like lots of fun!

I also try to respond to questions that they bring up along the way...and sometimes call depending on the situation.

I plan to keep this up as we keep getting RSVPS.

If it is an important question like "is there a gluten free option"or "can my children play outside", then call them. If it is "how excited are you!?" Then smile and tell them later how you enioyed reading it.

I often do this, too, so it's nice to know it's appreciated. If you see/talk to them you can mention it. Otherwise, enjoy it!
