Sam, on February 20, 2017 at 10:18 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6

Hello! Maid of honor here Smiley smile trying to figure out something nice to say to guest invited to the shower that declined but are sending gifts instead. It's tough bc I don't know half of these people.

Just say something along the lines of we wish you could be there but appreciate your thoughtfulness to send a gift. Then maybe something along the lines of see you at the wedding.

I would think it's the brides job after the shower to send them thank you's for the gifts ? Just respond like a normal person lol sorry you can't make it see you at the wedding

"So sorry you can't make it, but hopefully I'll see you at the wedding!"

Just keep it simple! "Thanks for letting me know! We'll miss having you at the shower but will hopefully see you at the wedding!"

I really really hope this bride is not making you write her thank you cards.

Sam, thank you cards don't need to go out until after the shower, and should be sent by the bride. You could bring these gifts to the shower for the bride to open then. While she is opening gifts, you could help her keep a list of what she received and from whom and add these gifts to that list. You got this!
