Resort Fee Waived?

Kaitlyn , on March 19, 2017 at 11:23 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6

Has anyone been successful getting a Resort Fee waived when doing a wedding room block at the hotel the wedding is being held? If so, how?

Never heard of such a fee. Might be because my wedding/reception isn't at a hotel.

The "resort fee" at one of our hotels we blocked covers parking and it is the same cost as the parking fee at the other hotel we blocked. So no, I've never seen anyone waive a resort fee for anything.

@Blair I know, me neither. I just figure since I'm spending X amount of money at the resort for the Rehearsal and Wedding, waiving the fee would be a courtesy to my guests staying there, giving them that much more money.

I've never heard of them waiving it but the worse they can say is no and your guest will pay a fee they already assumed they would have to.

Just make sure they don't trade it for something else like saying they will waive the resort fee but guest will pay for parking or don't get another amenity of the resort fee

Our resort fee covers the valet parking and free Wi-Fi

You can ask them to waive it, but I don't think it's common. If your hotel is in a popular location, the hotel would like sell out whether you have your wedding there or not, so they will be less likely to work with you.
