VIP September 2019

Reserved seats

on May 14, 2019 at 5:44 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 13
I am attaching a picture of our wedding venue. We are having both the ceremony and reception in same location. We are planning on not having assigned seats. Wherever people seat for ceremony is also the seat for dinner. Everyone is getting both of the entrees with a plated meal. I'm looking for advice on how to reserve the first few round tables on each side for our closest family members. The blue X tables won't be there. The circled ones are the tables I want to be reserved. The red is going to be the aisle. The other picture is someone else set up for a reception but we will have tables separated to form an aisle.

In front of the fireplace is where we are saying our vows.

I would just put signs on the tables that say "reserved," or "reserved for bride/groom's family."

A seating chart at the entrance with table numbers would be a method most guest will be familiar with. Or having small reserved signs on the tables would also suffice.

    Cute sign!
I'd just put a little reserved sign on the tables and explain "reserved for the bride's parents" or something along those lines.

Love the sign! We won’t be having assigned seats either and will just have reserved signs on our tables for family

Except that's not true for a lot of your guests - more than 1/3 of the seats are not options for non-family guests, whether or not the seat "makes [them] smile."

Thank you for your input. Every wedding I have been to family sits up front. Family has asked to be close. I know our friends won't mind. Everyone with have a wonderful view with how we will have it set up. If family prefers to sit other places that is fine also. Everyone is an adult and won't have an issue with tables reserved for family.
