Reserved ceremony seats

Paige, on November 21, 2019 at 8:53 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 2 12
Did you/do you plan on reserving seats for your family during the ceremony? Do most people just know that the parents sit in the front row or do I have to worry about someone sitting there?

I am going to reserve them just in case. You never know.

Will put a reserved sign on the first seat in the rows that are needed.

I'm having swags placed to block the front rows, just to ensure it!

Hey Paige! This is totally a personal preference and most guests will understand they family should be sitting in the front rows but if you want to ensure it, it might be a good idea to include a reserved sign. That way you won’t have to worry about it!!

We had reserved markers on the first two rows of each side. #1 was reserved for when the bridal party sits (catholic wedding) and parents and grandparents sat in #2.

We are reserving seats for family just to be safe. Most people know the first two rows are typically saved for family but we are using signs just in case.

I think it's fine and even a good idea to reserve the rows (no need to assign actual seats) with a sign. But make sure to tell the people you want to sit there that they can sit there. I have honestly seen too many weddings where those rows are mostly empty because the guests of honor don't know they are who the seats are reserved for! Smiley laugh

I have 4 chairs blocked off with memorial pictures and then the parents and our respective kids will be in the front row.... they will have a flower on them to dictate it’s special.

We will have similar because it’s a Catholic wedding. Is it necessary to actually have reserved signs if you have ushers?
Our church doesn’t really need any decoration, so we are trying to minimize any decorating needs before the ceremony and clean up after.
