Resending Rsvps?

Shelly, on October 18, 2020 at 5:48 PM Posted in Planning 0 3
We postponed from 05/08/20 to 01/29/21. We had already mailed out invites and started receiving RSVPs before COVID happened and then well.... y’all know the rest. The moment we had decided we needed to postpone I digitally notified everyone and then once we figured out a new date I mailed out re-save our new date cards. What would you do about the invites? Should I resend them? Our invitations were not cheap by any means... but I also know maybe not everyone who said yes can go now? And we canceled the event before our original RSVPs were due so we didn’t even get half of them back. I’m hosting a formal event so I want a formal vibe but idk if save the dates, invites, re-save the dates, and then new invites are just too much. Any advice from my fellow corona brides?

I would definitely get new invites and consider having guests RSVP online (via your wedding website or even a dedicated wedding email if you don’t want to use the website). You have a completely new date-people May have other commitments or are unwilling to go to a gathering during the pandemic, so you definitely need the invites to clear up confusion.

I had this same issue. We sent out invites for our July 2020 wedding, and then postponed a few weeks later. We're planning to order new invites and send them out when our new date in 2022 is closer. Some people who previously couldn't attend, may now be able to attend, and others who were previously able to attend, might not be able to make it to the new date.
