Rescue Remedy?

Harleybeachbride, on April 13, 2017 at 5:48 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 16

Good morning everyone! In an effort to find a way to calm my nerves on my wedding day (as I don't drink alcohol but wishing I did.... to enjoy some mimosas! lol) so I ordered Rescue Remedy. Has anyone tried it....did it help, or was it a waste of money? I'm open to any/all suggestions to help calm nerves!?! :+)

I've never tried Rescue Remedy...but here are a couple of things that help me when I am emotionally overwhelmed:

lavender oils (we use a diffuser, but I also have a stash of Badger Balm stress soother, and have lavender syrup to put in sparkling water (and coffee, although I don't recommend caffeine for nerves))

walks (now that the weather is beautiful where I am, a nice evening stroll can help me)

list-making (this may overwhelm you, but making a list helps me to organize tasks and ideas)

meditative activities (I'm not able to truly meditate, as my thoughts overwhelm me, but things like yoga can help both body and distract the mind)

Hope you find some calm in your final weeks! Sending good energy!

@FitzwilliamDarcy - thank you I've made note and will try these!! I'm high energy/ high strung (lol) and struggle w yoga but love a good run in the woods at a local pond, so happy the weather is turning. I may even take an early AM run the morning of to start day out on the right foot!!

I use this quite regularly, but a different brand. It isn't like an "instant calm", but more just takes the edge off a little. Some people I know say that it doesn't work at all - but I think those people are expecting sedative-type results. Whereas what I experience is more just being able to cope better with stress and anxiety.

My mom on the other hand literally falls asleep when I've given it to her in the past. So I don't know - maybe it just affects people differently.

I did use this before, when I would get anxiety attacks. It took some of the edge off. I would use the chewables. Lavender oil helps a lot, too. Good luck!

I use the rescue remedy chewables when I feel extra anxious. It certainly doesn't make me pass out or make everything go away, but it takes the edge off and allows me to stop panicking long enough to make a plan.

I used the chewable and liquid. Also use a combination of different ones for specific emotions (natural stores have them). I've been on it on and off since my early teens and I love it! Give it a try but start a few months before the wedding for your body to adapt Smiley smile

I have never heard of this. I do like the lavender scent for relaxation. Or you could try some tea.

I really wasn't nervous on my wedding day! I don't think this is necessary.
