My fiancé and I are still getting married on our scheduled date of October 10, 2020, but we really don’t k ow what we are going to do about our reception. Since we live on Long Island, NY , many restrictions have not been lifted. According to my vendor, if and when the restrictions are lifted, they don’t know how many guests they will accommodate. Having a reception a year later is not something I want. help!

We have the exact same dilemma for our October 10th wedding date. All of my family is out of state except for 2 of my 3 children who are with me. Most of my family have already expressed concerns about not being able to travel due to either being high risk or exposing someone who is high risk who lives with them. I've never had a wedding and this was my ultimate dream to finally walk down the aisle on my second marriage, adding to the fact that we got an awesome venue booked for the occasion. Believe me, I've cried many tears trying to come to terms with this situation until we decided to (1) wait until mid July to send out invites; (2) wait until maybe late August to decide whether we can still do the bigger, original event on the same date; (3) still get married in a smaller ceremony and venue on the same date, if we have to reschedule; and (4) move our date to do a renewal of vows next year on the same date. It's not going to be the same, I know, and I still won't get to celebrate in quite the same way as we intended, but it's the next best thing in my mind.

Long Island just entered phase 4 today. I am meeting with my venue tomorrow night to see what options we have. We are thinking of cutting our guest list significantly, rather than change our reception date

Lucky! Some parts of Florida are reverting back to Phase 1. Ugh.
