Reschedule or keep?

Briana, on July 9, 2020 at 12:22 PM Posted in Arizona Planning 0 15
Hi people! So I'm getting married on 10/10/2020 in Arizona and I'm not sure if I should reschedule. Help please!

Same date here! Have you spoken to your vendors? My venue does not allow us to change. My photographer charges extra 15%. We want to postpone because many of our guests come from out of state.

It's 100% a personal decision. A lot of people are keeping their dates but reducing their guest list. Just as many are rescheduling. Talk it over with your FH and make the decision together.

Our back up plan is to keep our date and further reduce our guest list.

Our date is November 21st and I’ve flat out told people that I’m not even going to think about postponing or canceling until September. Too much can change between now and then.
We have a small wedding to begin with (60 total guests including wedding party) and at this stage Virginia allows up to 250 person gatherings.
Almost all of our guests are from out of state but at this moment, we’re still planning on moving forward. We’ll see what late August/early September brings.

It's totally up to your and your FH. Ours is scheduled for 10/10 in Florida and we're full steam ahead. Invitations go out this week and most of our guests have all said they will definitely be there (we're having between 50 - 60)

The venue said if needed to we can reschedule. Things are horrible in AZ and with my medical condition I'm just nervous

I'd consider downsizing before canceling. But that's just me.

Two months out sounds like a good plan. Like a PP said, double check with your vendors. Many are working with people to reschedule vs. cancelling, but every business has a choice and you don't want to be stuck with a battle over it Smiley winking good luck to you, hun. I'm sure however it shakes out, your wedding will be fantastic.

I live here in AZ and my wedding is in September. I have put a pause on everything because I just don’t know what to do. It seems like we will just be having a ceremony with immediate family.

I too have a health condition and it’s just been really hard. But just remember regardless it will be a special day. We decided to have our reception with everyone when things are back to normal so people feel comfortable. Wishing you the best of luck 💗

Omg yes! That's what I was thinking, do a little ceremony in my backyard with immediate family and then a reception sometime later. And then I have to figure out if I should wear my dress or buy something else cause we have dirt in the backyard and a dog 😂😭 I wish you guys the best of luck!

I think those plans sound great Briana! Smiley ring And the dress choice is yours - rock your full gown if you want to, or you buy a new ceremony gown if you'd prefer! Smiley shame

Here are a few posts that have great dress ideas and shopping suggestions: Best place to get a courthouse dress, Show me your micro wedding/elopement dresses!, and Still getting married on your date? Will you wear your wedding dress?

You can take pictures with your dress in your house and switch to something else for the ceremony. Going by everyone that has taken pictures in the woods and around town, the dress will get dirty. The pictures won’t really show how dirty the dress is. So you can wear it on the backyard and get it cleaned for your other event. Good luck!
