Replacing lace on dress - ordering from designer?

As, on February 12, 2024 at 4:34 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 1
I bought a dress off the rack and the lace at the top by the neckline looks slightly worn/frayed, likely from being tried on by people at the store. Not sure if you can notice it much from the picture. It’s also not terrible in person but would be nice to freshen it up if possible! The store I bought it from works with my seamstress and they suggested I ask her to add or replace some lace at the top, but the seamstress said she can’t because it needs to be lace from the designer (Justin Alexander). She said if she was placing an order with them she could order it but I think since she doesn’t carry his dresses she can’t? Has anyone ever heard of ordering lace from the designer, is that something that is done?Replacing lace on dress - ordering from designer? 1

Are the same patterns used throughout the dress? Maybe a small section from a less prominent part of the dress could be borrowed and blended into the next area. Maybe a ribbon or some sort of beading could be placed around the neckline.
