Replacing bouquet & garter toss

Sara, on July 11, 2019 at 9:21 AM Posted in Planning 0 6

Hey guys! What are you doing as a substitution for the bouquet and garter toss? Please don't respond if you didn't do anything else. I want some ideas!

The anniversary dance can replace the bouquet toss. This was our plan until I realized how many young single girls we had, so we're actually doing both....but you can do the anniversary dance and give your bouquet to the last couple on the dance floor (will usually be your grandparents if they're still around). The way it works is the DJ invites all married couples to the dance floor and then slowly he calls out number of years they've been married, so you and FH will be the first ones off the floor, then he just increases in years until there is one couple left. We chose a nice old slow song for this one.

I am also doing the anniversary dance in lieu of the bouquet/garter toss. We chose "Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton.

Well it's depend on why you're not doing the toss. If you don't want to toss your bouquet or garter you can get a replacement pair. There the anniversary dance ad previously mentioned if you just don't have a lot of single people.

We're going to do a bouquet toss and sub an anniversary dance for the garter toss. We have a lot of dating couples, so I think we'll call all couples to the dance floor, and then knock out non-married couples, then very recently married couples (us), then go down the line until we hit the longest married couple - probably our family friend neighbors. I think we'll try to have a small gift to hand to them.

I've seen the bouquet toss being replaced with giving it to the longest married couple at your wedding as well as doing a random give away, where you pick a seat where a guy and a girl is sitting at.

Anniversary dance for us! I must be getting old - I personally find the bouquet & garter toss tacky. Plus I absolutely love the idea of giving my bouquet to a seasoned married couple!!!!
