Renting vs Buying

Kaitlyn, on January 3, 2020 at 10:48 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 8

I'm looking into arches for my May wedding, most likely 2 for the look that I want.

I was wondering the experiences that anyone had post-wedding in trying to sell arches? We live in an apartment and I don't know that my dad or FMIL would want to keep the arches in their backyards.

As for renting, a lot of things I've seen have been pretty pricey, and that's not even including decor. The 2 arches I'm looking at with stellar reviews on Etsy would run me about $300.

Also, any South Florida bridal FB groups for selling wedding decors?

Is the $300 price for renting or buying? I'm sure you could sell the arches on Facebook marketplace after the wedding as long as you had somewhere to store it while waiting for a buyer. Otherwise, I would rent so you don't have to worry about it after the wedding.

Sorry, should've clarified. The ones I'm looking to buy from Etsy would be about $300. I'd be really worried about not being able to turn around and sell them and get my moneys worth.

As for renting, everything seems much more expensive than that, and I'm not sure I could spend that kind of money.

Are you DIYing your flowers? My florist has an arch and also had access to a few others that could be rented for way cheaper than I was able to find.

If buying is going to be cheaper than renting, I would buy. Whether you're able to find a seller or not, you'd still be saving money. But I'm sure someone on Facebook would be willing to buy them at a reasonable price, or maybe your venue would be interested?

Yes, we are DIYing flowers because florists in my area are crazy expensive.

I am getting married in swfl. And I’m renting my arches. For about 150.

My florist also had options as well for about that range to rent

Where from?! FH said it's okay to just buy the arches from Etsy for $300 but if I can rent for around the same and not have to worry about selling them afterwards I'm totally okay with that!

There’s a few places near Naples. I’m not sure how far that is from you
