Renting suit/tux

Meghan, on September 10, 2019 at 9:44 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9
Where is a good option to rent suit/tuxes from? I've seen some online stores like, The Black Tux, and then theres the obvious bigger chain stores, Mens Warehouse.
What did you guys choose and how did the process go?

We are using GenTux. It's an online company I learned about from a WW poster. We had a negative experience at Men's Warehouse when we were researching options/prices. Joseph A Banks is a brother company of Men's Warehouse.. their customer service was WAY better and cost the same as MW, but once we heard of GenTux.. we loved their color options more! And it's convenient for our groomsmen who live all over.

Daughter and SIL used Black Tux for the GM (SIL purchased a custom suit from Indochino), and they were very happy with the entire process. The guys looked great; in photos, it is nearly impossible to tell their $100 rental suits from SIL's $400+ custom suit. SIL had to us Men's Warehouse when he was in friends' weddings and thought they were awful and REALLY overpriced.

We used Men's Warehouse for our wedding, but if I had to do it again I wouldn't. My father and brother drove 1.5 hours one way to the closest Men's Warehouse to get their tuxes only to be told the truck carrying the tuxes was in an accident and they didn't know when they would have their tuxes. They were very rude to my family. They also told them that even if they had their tuxes then they couldn't do anything if the tuxes didn't fit them properly. They ended up getting them the day before the wedding. The sales woman changed the size of my brother's shirt because she didn't think the measurements were right so they had to go find him a shirt that fit in the store. My dad's pants were too big because he lost weight so he had to use pins to hold them up. My husband's shirt didn't fit him either so he had to get a different shirt as well. My brother's pocket square was missing so the morning of the wedding my husband's friend who wasn't in the wedding had to go get him one. It was a nightmare dealing with them.

We used Men’s wearhouse and have had a great experience. i think any place really depends on location and staff though. so i would look around and call around and see how they treat you and communicate with you!

We chose Men's Wearhouse. With 9 guys in 3 states, all with different body types, this made the most sense. Plus if we dress 7+ people, FH gets his rental for free!

Yes, I've heard so many horror stories about men's wearhouse and how they hardly send everything how it was ordered. Or that they have to go searching for their suit or some part of the suit

Oh my gosh, that sounds awful. I can't believe they are that disorganized and rude. Ive always heard how people have to go through so much trouble to get most of their suit/tux in order then sometimes half-assed because they 'cant do anything about it'.

It was bad. My dad's pants were so big they fell down on his way to my room so my mom found pins to hold them up. My bil was smart and went and bought suspenders to keep his up. If we had thought about it we would have done the same. We went with them because our bridal party lives all over the country so we thought that would be the best place, but if I had to do it again I would have done what my bil did which was have the guys get measured locally and have them send me the measurements to take to a different bridal salon. Ordering them online would have made me nervous because I much prefer to see things in person first.
