Renting Polaroid Camera for Guestbook?

Kiwi Kawaii, on September 22, 2015 at 1:21 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

Has anyone done this? If so, where from? I found a couple of places that look legit for renting them, but I thought I'd throw this to the WW board!

I've considered buying one, but I'm not sure if I will have the money for it. So, I wanted to look into rental just in case.

EDIT: We were thinking of using it for the guestbook. We only have 13 guests, so I thought it might be fun considering how little film we'd need for that!

We looked into doing this for our guestbook. It seemed like such a cute idea!

It isn't the camera rental that gets you, it's the film. It's like $1 per picture. And each roll of film only has like 8 pictures so you have to constantly have someone changing the film.

Just a couple things to keep in mind. It might work if you have a smaller wedding, but for our 250 person wedding, it was not doable.

Are you talking about for the wedding? Like having them available for guests? My friend has a Polaroid and spends a fortune on film, so not worth it in my opinion.

@Trisha - I figured that out pretty quick looking online, had never realized it before. I was thinking it'd be fun for the guest book and a few extra photos if there is any film left. We only have 13 guests, so I thought it might be okay. That way I'd only need to get maybe 2 or 3 things of film.

@SwoleMates2016 - Topic edited! Yes, we were thinking it might be a fun idea for the guestbook. I didn't think about how expensive it'd be as a hobby if I were to buy one. Thank you for mentioning that about your friend! But for renting, I've found a few places that rent for a great rate, to where really the only thing I'd be paying for is a few things of film.

    Still a bad idea?

With only 13 guests I think it would be a cute idea! And they aren't that expensive to purchase, she got hers at Urban Outfitters, may be worth looking in to. It even came with a roll of film.

I actually bought one from target and am planning on ordering another from Amazon. We got a guestbook for Polaroids from Michaels they have a cute Polaroid section. I've used the camera so much I can't imagine renting one and not wanting to keep it.

We were going to but the film is SUPER expensive - I think it is like 10 sheets (pictures) for $50. We MAY do just an instant printer but we are still trying to figure that out!
