Renting house with bridal party & family?

BRIDE , on January 5, 2018 at 2:40 PM Posted in Planning 1 7
Yay or nay? I'm worried about any damages to the property or of the owners cancel last minute and her no where to go. We are having a destination wedding. Also, someone brought up idea of splitting cost with bridal party but is that tacky or should I pay for everyone? Hotels are too expensive to block rooms for them $350 per night average so I'm looking for something cheaper as i know thats too much. But will i get stuck paying for the entire bridal party ths way and should i? Thanks

How long are you trying to rent the house for? If it's a destination wedding and you are staying for a while, I don't see an issue with splitting the costs. If it was just for one night, I would say cover the cost.

We are renting a house for one night AFTER our wedding (we are having a brunch wedding and it ends at 4pm). We still wanted to hang out with people, so we rented a 4 bedroom and we are having VIPs stay overnight with us there. We are covering the costs.

We also messaged the airbnb cost and made them 100% aware that it was going to be a lot of people coming to the house to hang out, that we were getting married that day and this was going to be the after event to spend more quality time with guests. the airbnb guy said that was totally fine. make sure you are honest with the airbnb host about this, as a lot of airbnb hosts do NOT want parties. And I was 100% honest with how many folks were going to be sleeping over. It raised the price of the house by like $300, but that was fine cause I wanted NO reason for the host to not be ok with us being there or think we were lying about anything.

@cassie, it would be for 4 nights and about 25 and 3 young children. folks! ah! I can cut it to like 15 if parents and family aren't going in the house unless they are part of bridal party. Thoughts? Thank you so much

I had friends that got married in Destin FL. They rented 2 houses next door to each other for family and bridal party to stay at. As a member of the bridal party, I wasn't charged to stay there the night before and the night of the wedding, I was charged for the additional nights that I decided to stay. This was definitely a group that liked to party. I don't remember anything getting broken. Most places will have you pay a damage deposit. If your group is pretty calm, you could probably forgo insurance.
