Renting Father In Law tux?

I would like to know as well. I've struggled with this. I didn't care so much until my FMIL told me that she thinks he should so that he "matches" in the pictures. My dad is going to be wearing one. Does anyone know what is standard?

We have the Dads in a standard black and white tux. Groomsman in red vest and tie.

We have the vest a different color than my step-dad's and grandfathers tux(both are walking me down the aisle). However, FFIL (his step-dad)told us that he will pretty much wear what he damn well pleases so we left that one alone....knowing FMIL is leaving him after the wedding helped that decision....oh the drama.

Both my step-father and my FFIL will be in tuxedos to match the WP. They are both incorperated into the WP, and that is why.

We have both the dads in tuxes. I think the dads should be dressed similarly. Also, since we had so many gm and ushers, both our dads got thier rentals free.

The FIL was in groomsman tux. I guess we just didn't think about it too much at the time-- just that the groom's tux would be different--to stand out.

My FMIL mentioned that as well that all the dads (i have 2) need to match the groomsmen. I thought it was crazy. My Dad here (step dad) said no way hes renting a tux he would wear a nice suit. And I know my other dad wouldnt do it in a million years. Also none of them are involved in the ceremony. My brother is walking me down the aisle and hes also a groomsmen. So now Im hoping FFIL will not be renting one cause that would be odd

We're having my dad and step-dad in matching tuxes with the GM but w/a different color vest (GM-sage, dads-purple). They are walking me down the aisle so I thought it important to have them looking good! As for FFIL, he hasn't said anything and we're not really sure what he's wearing. We will let him know he can rent a tux if he so chooses and if not hopefully he has a nice suit that won't clash w/everyone else!

I hadn't even thought of the grandfathers! I'm afraid my inlaws won't want to rent a tuxes either - but I definitely agree it would look best. Thanks all!!

My dad isn't here anymore, so I don't have to worry about him. I don't really see any reason for FFIL to have rent one, but my FH says that his dad HAS to match him so he has to get one, sooo... FFIL and FH are going to have charcoal tuxes and the groomsmen and ushers are going to have black in the same style of cuts and same tie's and vests.

Both my dad and FFIL will be in matching tuxes. I think we are going to go with a traditional black tux with black vest and tie.
