Renting a school bus for transportation! Have you? Pros and cons!

So after going back and forth between our coordinator and family we don't know if we will have just our wedding party or a few others for transport. A party bus is a minimum of 2 hours and starts at $450 for 8. However we can geta school bus and have 20 for 1.5 hours for $300.

We love the idea! However other than possibly no AC are there any other pros/cons? Is alcohol allowed? Food? Music?

What area are you looking I can recommend one that has cheaper rates if your near NYC.

I want to say that a party bus seems like it would be more comfortable seat wise because as you know a school bus the benches go a certain way and I can imagine for your dress it wouldn’t be that comfortable for you to be in

So my husband and I won't be on it. We will have a sedan pick us up as we will be going to an alternate location for some quick pics. We are looking to have our wedding party and possibly parents

I doubt alcohol is allowed, I think you can only do that with a limo license. We didn't do this, but we've been to a wedding that did. It was a short drive so the no AC and uncomfortable seats wasn't a huge issue.

We did school buses to transport guests from our hotel to our venue (30-40minute drive). I didn’t hear any complains, but really, who’s gonna complain about free transportation?

We put our bridal party in those executive sprinters/buses that fit like 20-30 people in it. We rode along with them. It did it’s job and was totally fine!

This might depend where you are. We are renting a school bus (technically from a private company that schools also hire), we are allowed alcohol.
