Has anyone considered renting their wedding dress? or even bridesmaid dresses?

I would rent bridesmaid dresses but I'd never rent a wedding dress. I'm way too sentimental to not get to keep something I got married in

I'm considering renting something to change into at the reception and something to wear at the rehearsal dinner. I also think it's a good option for bridesmaids.

I plan to rent from Rent the Runway. They don't allow reservations more that 4 months in advance. Wedding is 7/22 and I have to wait until 3/22 for my bridesmaids to order their dresses. I'm hoping it all works out.

I love rtr and have used them for formal events with ease. They weren't selected for the wedding, however. They didn't have enough of a selection for the wedding dresses when I was looking. We also didn't like that the dresses would only arrive a day or two before the event when all of us are headed to a semi destination wedding. Our bridesmaids ordered from vow to be chic. Those dresses arrive a few weeks ahead and had a better selection for rentals. For our wedding in April the rentals had to be done in Nov I believe. I have 6 bridesmaids and RTR wouldn't guarantee inventory and wouldn't let us order prior to 4 months before the wedding. There were just too many risks for us with a bridal party our size. A site like Weddington way, union station, or vow to be chic specializes in bridesmaids rental dresses and takes into consideration the risks.

I'm renting all of my bridesmaid dresses from Union Station, the dresses come in 2 weeks before, and you get the size the bridesmaid wears, plus a "spare" dress in a different size in case the one they got in their size doesn't work. Basically a two-for-one type of deal. The bridesmaid gets to pick both sizes. The long dresses start at $75 so it's pretty affordable too! They suggest booking the dresses at least 4 months in advance to guarantee that they are in stock though.

I used to love rent the runway but since they added that foolish unlimited option rentals have gotten real dicey. I'm still considering them for my BMs but that's mostly because there's an actual showroom near my venue should we need to make some last minute changes.

I love RTR! I rented from them for my engagement pics and plan to do so for my bridal shower and RD. I've seen brides rent on there before and post reviews. Most of what I've seen have been small elopement or more casual small weddings. Reserve early!

I just talked to them yesterday actually, you can reserve dresses up to 4 months in advance, no sooner, so my BMs, FMIL & I will be going in April

I wish I could've rented my wedding dress but I'm too short and chubby to fit in something without needing alterations.

I'd just worry about availability for BM dresses, but I'd be all about renting vs buying that too.

I totally considered it. In fact the first dress I tried on was from RTR.

In the end I found exactly what I wanted elsewhere, but I had no qualms bout using them if I'd found the perfect dress.
