Rent or Buy??

If you think you'd be able to sell the uplights after the wedding, I would buy them! How many would you need total?

I'd rent. It's hard to sell wedding items afterwards and what else would you do with all of those uplights? Unless cost is the main factor, then do what is cheapest. But I'd probably rent. Does your DJ potentially offer uplighting as part of a package? That would make things easier as well!

Personally, I would buy them. You'll end up paying about the same amount either way, so you might as well TRY to sell ones that you own after the wedding. Even if it's just for a few bucks back, it's better than nothing! Worst case scenario, you aren't able to find a buyer and you toss them or donate them.

Things like lights, I saw go ahead and rent. Let the pros take on that task.
