Rent or buy tux/suit?

Future Mrs N, on August 19, 2013 at 11:46 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14

Is anyone buying suits rather than renting tuxes? We only have three groomsmen and only one is out of state. We are thinking it may be feasible to buy rather than rent.

If you wanted to go with tuxes, then renting may be better unless you anticipate getting invited to an awful lot of formal events.

It's never a bad idea to invest in a suit. They're much more versatile than a tux.

FH's guys are wearing black suits with white dress shirts, which everyone already owned. All we asked them to do was buy the tie I picked out.

I like suits just as well as tuxes. All the guys wanted tuxes so they would feel dapper, I guess. But I think suits would have been just as nice.

We rented tuxes, but my DJ had such a nice body, I wish we had purchased one instead and got it tailored to fit him. He looks amazing IMO, but a tailored suit would have looked amazing too. It's a tough call!

Your DJ had a nice body hey? Smiley winking

We had all our 6 GM rent tuxes and with that, FH got a free tux rental or credit towards a suit. We decided to get the suit for him. But he wouldn't let me see him in it Smiley sad

I had so many issues getting my tuxes rented and didn't end up getting them until the day of the wedding. I wish I would've stuck to my original plan and had the guys go to sears and buy their tuxes... would of been a hell of alot cheaper too... oh the regrets i have!

I think it's more practical to buy a suit that you can use later.

My FH and his guys are heading to Downtown LA later this month to buy some nice suits for a little more (if not the same amount) of renting down in SD. I agree with the practicality of having a suit for use later. Smiley smile

My FH is buying a suit, and he's really excited. It probably is going to cost more than my dress, haha.

It is sometimes even more exoensive to rent than buy. Most places cost between 150-200 just to sent. At a good deal you can get a suit at macys for 200. Better to buy. My FH bought his. Grooms men are also buying at 150 dollars each. Buying a suit rather than renting tuxes.

We are having the grooms men buy suits from a store here in Florida and they are actually coming out cheaper to buy then rent(being that you rent for only a day and buying well they get to keep it) the place is having a special u buy 1 get 2 free or buy 2 get one free. but they split the cost. so excited. cant wait to see it all put together.

Sometimes you come out cheaper just buying the suits/tux, just shop around and find the cheaper one.

We were thinking of renting. The place near is us under a 100 bucks for the rental and you get the grooms for free.
