Hi everyone, I am getting married in May and am considering making some alterations to my dress as our plans for the wedding have changed. Originally we were going with the traditional ceremony at a barn style venue but now we plan to elope in Hawaii! I still adore my dress but am considering taking out the crinoline to make it less full and adding a leg slit to make it more breathable and easy to move around in. Has anyone done this to a similar style gown? Just looking for some idea of what it could look like. Not looking to be talked out of it, please. Photo is obviously not me, just trying to avoid my fiancé seeing me in the dress 😂

Removing crinoline is pretty easy, however adding a slit might be more difficult. Is there a seam near the leg where a slit could be added? If you don't have a seam there, you can't add a slit.

My dress is very very similar to this one including the waist line and my slit is partly hidden but I LOVE IT! It still flows really well and the crinoline was removed too! Id recommend them making it like a slightly hidden slit where one part of the slit slightly overlaps the other so it gives the illusion like there isn’t one but when you push your leg through it’s shows!
