Removed the illusion from my dress, i am in love

The smallest change makes a huge difference!

Also this was a diy alteration, if you have sewing skills don't be afraid of using them.

    Good job!
Speaking of dress DIYs, I just decided to hem my dress, since it’s the only alteration it needs, I have a sewing machine & I don’t feel like taking it in somewhere, waiting for months & paying $800. I guess we’ll see how it goes 😬 lol

What's the name/designer of this dress, if you don't mind me asking?

This is an Azazie. It is the Sedona. $299. https://m.azazie.com/products/azazie-sedona-wedding-dress

I loved that it is similar to the ever popular BLHDN Hearst. But different enough that it isn't over done. Though I loved the Hearst, I didn't love the cost.

The Hearst is currently my top choice! Haha. I'll take a look at the Sedona. Thank you!

If you look through my post history, you will see my other dress with major alterations. Just go slow. Get someone to help you pin it for length.

This one is definitely warmer champagne, rather than the cool grey of the Hearst, although I think they also make a champagne version. I felt less naked in this one, the Hearst is low in the front, under the arms, and in the back. This dress has a key hole back, which I might also remove. I just couldn't decide today. But the appliques over the bodice made me feel more comfirtable. I also was able to get a custom size and length which eliminated the need for alterations. Also here is me in the Hearst.

That's so pretty on you! This is me in the Hearst. I love the low front, back, and side aspect of it! Haha. I’m not in love with the strap across the back. If I went this route, I'd get the blush color and I’d want to add an illusion back with some added appliqués. I’m definitely going to give Azazie’s try on at home a shot!

Yes, I had help with pinning! I hemmed many dresses in the past & my wedding dress has only one layer & lining underneath, which I already cut to the right length & it looks good. But still... little nervous to make the cut ✂️ lol

I just asked them to chose a long grey or blue dress, so you never know.
