Remove comb from veil

Anna-Lisa, on December 21, 2017 at 9:32 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5
Help!! I purchased a veil with the comb attached. I really wanted a drop veil. Is there a way they can remove the comb from the veil?

Talk to your seamstress...I'm sure it can be done but I wouldn't know who to reach out to either, and hopefully even if they aren't able to do it they can point you in the right direction!

Usually the comb is attached by a fishing line type clear thread or with white thread, if you get a seam ripper and very carefully go in to remove those threads, you should be able to detach the comb without damaging the veil

Really?? Thank you!! Going to try.

A drop veil means it’s just dropped on the head and lays flat. It’s not bunched where the comb is attached. Kate Middleton’s veil was a drop veil as it lay flat on her head.

Veils on combs are gathered typically, so taking it apart you will have a flat piece of fabric, but i dont know if it will work for the drop veil style. i would take it to a seamstress and ask for their input in person.
