I am interested in adding detachable sleeves to my wedding dress. I would wear the sleeves for the ceremony and remove them for the reception (because I get hot dancing!). The only issue is that the seamstress doing the bridal fitting says that removable sleeves don't look good and she is not comfortable doing them. So she wants me to decide sleeves or no sleeves. Has anyone done this to their dress? I was thinking she could use small buttons or hooks (the same ones used on the back of a bra?).
I thought about adding a topper, but the issue is my dress has thick straps and a plunging back. I haven't seen a topper that would look good with that combination, so I feel like removable sleeves are my only option. Also, for reference, this is a wedding in January and I am not very interested in a wrap or stole, I want something that I can wear down the aisle. Thank you!
