Rehearsal necessary?

Heather, on October 17, 2019 at 10:04 PM Posted in Planning 0 7
I'm having a destination wedding. We have 2 attendants on my side and 1 best man. The resort will do something if I want but I dont want to waste time on a rehearsal when guests are enjoying the resort. Is it really necessary if we know what we are doing other than how the walk times with the music?

    Nope, rehearsals typically aren’t necessary.

I didnt think so but other sites I've seen stress how important it is. Ours is a quicky ceremony on the beach and laid back. We are doing other events with the guests on other days. It probably wouldnt cost me anything but it seems like a waste of my guests time. The only thing I'm trying to figure out is the timing of the music and where it might need to cut off. Depending on the location of our room, they may transport me in a golf cart..:/. If I get upgraded close, I may be able to walk from my room. Its unavoidable that people will see me coming so may start the song about the time I come into view. It's a long song. I might even splice it so that it picks up at the climax as the ceremony ends. Haven't figured that out yet. All digital music we provide to the sound engineer. DJ is later. I think we can guesstimate and figure it out. Thanks for the help. Sorry for my long-winded message.

Nope. We had a DW (no wedding party) and even
though we did an on-site walk-through the day before, no rehearsal. As long as you have a day-of coordinator she’ll line everyone up as needed.

Your officiant can tell everyone how to line up and where to stand, just before the wedding starts. You really don't need a rehearsal.

I don't think so esp if you have a coordinator or it's just straight forward

Definitely not necessary and especially if you know what you’re doing. Your coordinator will also help you that day if you have one

I don't think they are needed, but it was nice for our parents & wedding party & officiant & coordinator to all get together and have a general plan and see the venue space.
