Rehearsal lunch?

Lauren, on June 5, 2017 at 9:07 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

Out ceremony rehearsal is the day before (on a saturday) at 1130am. Were planning on catering BBQ and renting out a pavilion in a park by our venue..is it weird to have a rehearsal lunch insteaf of dinner? What else could we do later that day? Should we invite whoever wants to go to dinner that night? 95% of people are coming from at least 4 hours away.

We are also having a rehearsal lunch. I'm not worrying about what anyone else does the rest of the day - that's venue prep for me. Just enjoy the luncheon and relax Smiley smile

It doesn't matter whether it's a rehearsal dinner or lunch. And if you're doing a lunch, do people really want to stick around the entire day for more festivities when they will be at the wedding all day the next day?

For me, we did a lunch with our families so they could meet for the first time (this was not a rehearsal but it was the day before the wedding). Then we went out that night with friends that were in town for the wedding. The wedding was the next morning at 11am; reception until 4pm. Then we went out later that night around 730pm with anyone who wanted to go out. We made it very chill and had lots of options for everyone. If they wanted to hang out with us, we were out and about so they could. Try not to overthink it. We didn't and we had a blast both days/nights.

We are planning a rehearsal brunch in the afternoon. We plan on making it a long brunch and then our welcome cocktails for everyone will be at 5. We may have dinner with everyone if they want but mostly we wanted to have an early night so we are well rested for our wedding.

I love that idea! I think it would be nice to invite everyone for dinner if you're planning to go but definitely not necessary. Give everyone some time to relax and hang out before the big day.

This is a neat idea! I never even thought about a rehearsal lunch... something to think about for us. We were thinking sit down rehearsal dinner, however this is a good idea as well Smiley smile

I'm doing a rehearsal breakfast because the venue is booked at other times and it is convenient to do a morning rehearsal
