Rehearsal Favors???

Cheryl, on June 3, 2019 at 10:50 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 10
I just downloaded Etsy and started browsing wedding stuff. I stumbled upon personalized rehearsal dinner favor bags. I didn't know these were a thing and I actually thought the trend was to get rid of favors all together. What are your thoughts on favors in general and rehearsal favors specifically? The bag reads something like "Tomorrow is going to be the best day ever."

You're free to have them if you wish, but rehearsal and wedding favors are definitely not required!

I am not doing rehearsal favors since in my eyes the rehearsal dinner is where you get your bridal party/parents together to thank them for being there every step of the way. We will be giving our bridal party gifts and our parents gifts at the rehearsal dinner. So to me, no need for favors! We are planning on spending $60 per gift... maybe sound cheap to most but I look for the best deals 😉 also the gifts do not look cheap! Have to create a budget when we have a bridal party of 10 (bridesmaids and groomsmen) then our flower girl, ring bearer, parents, and also my FH grandparents will be there because his grandfather is marrying us ❤️

They are completely unnecessary on both counts. Especially at the rehearsal dinner!! No one would ever be expecting them then. Also, more than likely no one will notice if you skip them at your reception either. However, if it’s something you wanna do and can afford it, then go for it! 😊

And a PP mentioned... the rehearsal dinner is usually when you give your wedding party, parents, grandparents, etc their gifts if you’ve gotten them any.

I am giving my main wedding party gifts at rehearsal dinner rather than day of wedding. I've Never personally heard of rehearsal favors but I feel like with weddings it's always a time to gift giving

I agree with all of you and frankly, I was very surprised. I feel like this is just another thing the wedding industry is creating in order to generate even more revenue. If people learn about it and want to do it, that's totally cool, but if you're giving more substantial gifts anyway, that would be redundant maybe. I guess if you want to include it at check-in at the hotel or at a welcome party the night before it might be a nice touch.

I think $60 for each gift is very nice and I'm also a great bargain hunter. I love that your GFIL is marrying you! That is so sweet!

Rehearsal favors are definitely a thing. BUT wedding party thank you gifts are, and are typically given at the rehearsal dinner.

It’s not letting me edit at the moment, but I meant to say that rehearsal favors are definitely NOT a thing.

I'm printing special menus and the top just thanks everyone for coming! We may get a sign too, to display.
