Rehearsal dinner

Keli, on November 9, 2017 at 12:23 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 19

Since the photographer and the DJ are present for the rehearsal, are they to be included in the rehearsal dinner?

Why are they present at the rehearsal? Mine won't be.

If someone attends the rehearsal they need to be included in the dinner.

I would say so. My photographer and DJ aren't coming, but my organist is, and I'm having FMIL invite her to the dinner since she's coming out for it and she's a friend

Why are they attending the rehearsal? Ours never mentioned any of that.

Munchkin is right, if they're attending they need to be included.

Why will they be at the rehearsal? I've never heard of that.

Everyone attending the rehearsal needs to be fed.

Most photographers and DJ's don't attend the rehearsal.

Even if they did, I wouldn't invite them. Their fee surely encompasses all the time they will devote to your wedding. They are being paid to be there.

I've never heard of a photographer or DJ present at a rehearsal. My officiant wasn't even there

If they are going to be there, I think it is polite to feed them. (Just as you would at the wedding)

Is that in your contract with them however? For them to attend the rehearsal dinner?

I have honestly never heard of a DJ or a photographer at a RD. If they are there, they get offered a meal.

Anyone at the rehearsal is invited to the rehearsal dinner, so yes.

I'm confused why they would be at your dinner? And why would this be in their package...

Thanks everyone. My photographer requested to be present to help establish the layout to get the best pictures. My DJ is providing the music for the ceremony

Your DJ is providing the music for the ceremony? Isn't the ceremony the next day? Still confused why the DJ would be at your dinner...

My DJ and officiant will both be at the rehearsal. The DJ is doing the music for the ceremony, and wants to see where to set up their equipment.

I would say if someone requested to be there as part of their routine, for whatever reason, you don't need to feed them. It doesn't sound like your photographer will be involved in the rehearsal so much as use the time you have the space to scope out the venue.

If you requested they be there, yes feed them.
